Mount Carmel Hospital has been redeveloped and contains a dedicated orthopaedic unit.
Mount Carmel hospital is set in 5 acres of mature landscaped grounds in Churchtown, in the suburbs of Dublin. We opened our doors in 1949 and throughout our history, the philosophy has been to create an excellent patient experience supported by excellent facilities and a dedicated nursing team.
Our focus on patient-centric care and the unrivalled setting of the facility itself, combine to offer our patients the very best recovery experience
Mount Carmel offers a wide range of medical and surgical services - from maternity care and specialist clinics to surgery and a dedicated orthopaedic unit. The hospital holds the prestigious Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation standard. This internationally recognised standard reflects Mount Carmel’s commitment to providing the highest quality patient care.
In 2006, Mount Carmel Hospital was acquired by the Mount Carmel Medical Group. As a very successful independent healthcare operator, the Mount Carmel Medical Group is now embarking on an extensive investment programme to strengthen the hospital’s services while continuing to respect the tradition of holistic care, an integral part of the hospital philosophy.
The redevelopment programme includes:
- Introduction of new diagnostic techniques, including 64 slice CT scanning which allows for non-invasive cardiac work
- A dedicated Paediatric Unit
- Expansion of operating Theatre capacity
- Expansion of the Maternity Unit – creation of a Centre of Excellence for mother and baby, birthing pools, family rooms and 3D scanning
- Development of pre-natal and post-natal out-patient services on site. This means all maternity needs for expectant mothers will be catered for at Mount Carmel Hospital
- Expansion of car parking facilities including a 3 storey underground car park for use by patients, visitors and staff.
