What is ERCP?

An ERCP is a procedure which allows a doctor to take detailed images of the bile ducts and pancreas. The bile ducts are small tubes which carry secretions from the liver to the gall bladder and then passed down a large duct (the common bile duct) into the first part of the small bowel (duodenum)
