If the body is injured the rate of cell production speeds up automatically until the injury is healed, and then slow down again.
The cells of cancer, however, divide and grow at
their own speed and in an uncontrolled manner, and they will continue to
do so indefinitely unless treatment is given. In time, they increase in
numbers until enough are present for the cancer to become visible as a
GROWTH or
TUMOUR.
In addition to growing too rapidly, cancer cells
are unable to organize themselves properly, so that the mass of tissue
that forms does not resemble normal tissue. A cancer obtains its
nourishment parasitically from its bearer, and will serve no useful
purpose for that person whatsoever.
