The Galway Clinic opened its doors in June 2004. The Galway Clinic was developed to provide the community with access to state of the art medical and nursing care. One of the main aims of the Galway Clinic is to improve cancer care services in the West of Ireland.

  • Oncology & Radiotherapy
  • Radiology (incl. PET/CT, MRI)
  • Physiotherapy
  • Cath. Lab & Electrophysiology suite with a dedicated recovery unit
  • A&E Unit
  • Health Screening Unit
  • Fully comprehensive Laboratory
  • An eight bed ICU/HDU provides post operative care for patients undergoing major/complex surgery.

Robotic Surgery Galway Clinic

The Galway Clinic is delighted to announce the establishment of the first robotic surgery unit for the treatment of prostate cancer in Ireland. Prostate cancer is the most common solid organ tumour diagnosed in men in the Western world and there were over 2,000 cases diagnosed in Ireland in 2005, with over 500 deaths. If discovered early, prostate cancer is completely curable by using surgery, radiation therapy or brachytherapy.

The Galway Clinic is the only private hospital in Ireland to provide laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery to treat the severely overweight. The surgeon has over five years of experience using the laparoscopic adjustable gastric band procedure.

This operation has been performed successfully on hundreds of thousands of patients in Continental Europe and increasingly in the USA since 1994.

The criteria require extensive preoperative assessment and counseling.  We adhere strictly to international guidelines and provide continuous aftercare.
