Mr Chatzis is fully certified and is one of only a handful of surgeons on the Specialist Register in Ireland and the UK, he practices Cosmetic surgery full time, is a full time resident in Ireland and only operates in Private General Hospitals (which are fully regulated). All of these points are paramount in order to provide you with a safe and ethical patient journey and the assurance that only a truly experienced and fully trained surgeon performs surgery on you.  
 
Mr Chatzis is the Medical Director of River Medical Group in Dublin. His ambition is for the River Medical Group to become the leading Cosmetic Surgery clinic in Ireland offering the most up to date, state of the art treatments under a very strict medical ethos. Furthermore, he is the only surgeon to hold a PhD in Plastic Surgery in Ireland.

Born in Athens, Greece and schooled in the UK, France and Canada, Mr Chatzis did General Surgery training at the National Capodistrian University of Athens before carrying out Plastic Surgery training in a number of NHS units in the UK. He held formal training posts between 1988 and 1993 at the Plastic Surgery Departments of the following Major NHS Hospitals in the UK:

  • Frenchay Hospital, Bristol
  • Dundee Royal Infirmary
  • Shotley Bridge Hospital, Durham
  • Hull Royal Infirmary, Kingston-upon-Hull

Mr Chatzis qualified as a Plastic Surgeon and joined the Board of Plastic Surgeons in 1993.
Prior to joining the River Medical Group, Mr. Chatzis spent eight years as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Clane General Hospital in Co. Kildare and in Cambridge UK.

The previous seven years he was a Consultant Plastic Surgeon with a special interest in Breast Reconstruction and Head and Neck Cancer. During this period, he worked at Stamford General Hospital in London, Cambridge Private Hospital in Cambridge and in Athens. He also held rooms at Cambridge, Harley Street in London and Ireland.

Since qualifying, Mr Chatzis has conducted more than 7,000 cosmetic surgical procedures including:
  • 3,500 breast surgical procedures (augmentation, reduction, uplift)
  • 2,000 body contouring surgeries (liposuction and abdominoplasty)
  • 1,000 facial procedures (rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty and face lift, laser treatments)
  • 500 skin cancer procedures

Mr Chatzis's main interests are cosmetic surgery of the body and breast for both men and women. He is a specialist in advanced breast surgery, as well as liposuction, abdominoplasty, thigh and arm lifts and facial procedures.

He is also highly-experienced in non-surgical procedures such as:
  • The treatment of facial wrinkles with injectables
  • Facial rejuvenation
  • The treatment of pigmented and vascular lesions with LASER and IPL machines
  • The use of peels and the treatment of cellulite and scars
  • The most up to date treatment of acne scars and other scars using cutting edge LASER technology.

Mr Chatzis is a world authority on Breast Asymmetry and has been a member of the Academic Faculty on numerous International Symposia. He is also the author of a series of scientific papers published in Academic Journals. He is a trainer of Surgical Fellows on the three-year rotation approved training scheme leading to Board exams in Cosmetic Surgery. Mr. Chatzis has recently begun lecturing young Irish surgeons’ surgical techniques at one of Irelands leading medical training facilities.
