Allergy testing - Alternative therapy

Classed as food or non food, allergy is a sensitivity or intolerance to an environmental substance. Allergy is quite often inherited, but it is important to remember that each individual is different and may harbour a sensitivity to any substance.

Symptoms are not always obvious. Allergy may manifest as abdominal discomfort, bloating, fatigue, irritability, sleepiness, headaches, rhinitis, asthma, joint pains or skin rashes. Intolerances have been markedly changed in the last few decades by atmospheric pollution, use of chemical additives in food, use of non fresh foods, the use of pesticides and the over refining of food stuffs.

There are 4 main types of allergy: fixed, variable, cyclic and masked or addictive. A fixed allergy will cause a reaction on every occasion the individual is exposed to the substance. A variable allergy is intermittent and often requires another stress factor for a reaction.

A cyclic allergy is similar to a fixed one - a reaction will occur if the substance is present, but if the substance is removed, repeated exposure may be necessary to bring about a similar reaction. A masked or addictive allergy may make the person feel better for a short time, but will eventually bring about an adverse reaction. There may even be a craving for certain of these allergens.

Blood and skin tests used by western doctors are seen as crude compared to the tests used by other therapists, such as dowsing, radionic tests, muscle tests and vega or mora tests which involve electronic equipment.

Allergic conditions may also be helped by homeopathy, radionics, individual nutrition support and acupuncture. Other therapies such as Qi Gong, Tai Chi and Yoga may also strengthen the immune system.
