Ageing can be slowed through exercise and a healthy diet, but some signs such as frown lines can be particularly difficult to combat. Thankfully cosmetic surgery offers an effective solution that will leave you with a younger, brighter appearance.
The
Brow Lift (or
forehead lift) is a procedure which will raise your eyebrows to a higher and more aesthetically pleasing position and also improve the appearance of lateral hoods, which are the droopy flaps of skin that hang over the outside corner of your eyes. Plastic surgery of your forehead will also soften your horizontal forehead wrinkles and the frown lines between your eyebrows.
Brow lift Procedure
There are two types of Brow Lift Surgery; an Open
Brow Lift and an Endoscopic Brow Lift.
The former involves one continuous incision, beginning at the level of your ears and going up around your hair line. Depending on where your hair line is, the surgeon will move the incision line to avoid a visible scar.
The latter is a more advanced procedure and involves the use of a tiny camera to locate the imperfections, and smaller incisions to make the necessary alterations.
The Brow Lift takes 1½ to two hours to complete.
Recovery
Patients will normally experience bruising and swelling, around the cheeks and eyes as well as the forehead. This should pass after in about a week. Other post-operative effects include some pain, and sometimes itching or numbness. Most can return to work within ten days of the procedure.
Post-Operative Care
Patients will probably be required to keep their head elevated for two days, to help alleviate the swelling. Strenuous activity should be avoided in the weeks following the procedure.

Is brow lift right for me?
The Brow Lift is a purely cosmetic procedure that will only improve your appearance. Candidates should be sure that they are doing it for themselves and no one else, and that they have realistic expectations regarding the outcome.
Candidates should bear in mind that the Brow Lift will only improve one area, which can appear incongruous as the rest of your face ages. Many people therefore undergo a Brow Lift in conjunction with other minor procedures
What are the risks?
Although Brow Lift surgery is generally a safe procedure, it does carry risks. These include infection, scarring, and delayed healing of wounds. You can minimise risk by following pre and post operative advice.
Questions to ask the doctor
