Bedwetting while asleep is very common in children, especially those under the age of six or seven. It is also known as nocturnal enuresis.
Bedwetting usually stops by the age of about seven or slightly later. About one in seven children aged five, and one in 20 children aged 10, wet the bed. It is more common in boys than girls.
Bedwetting can also affect children older than six or seven. There are various techniques that, with advice from your GP, can sort out the problem. It is very important not to punish the child or make them worried about the bedwetting.
